www.lbthecatlosesfat.com I discovered that LB's favorite scratching post is the leather furniture.  Even though I have several cats, LB is the only one who scratches the furniture.  So, it was time to figure out a solution.  At first I covered the damaged areas with a sheet, but that only forced him to move to a new location. After much research, I decided to try Soft Paws, which are nail caps that are applied to a cat's nail, eliminating any damage caused by scratching.  Soft Paws are available in many colors and four sizes - kitten, small, medium, and large.  Since I did not know what size LB needed, I bought both the medium and the large.  It turns out he takes a large, and I chose the yellow and green stripes.  Because I did not know how to apply the Soft Paws and since I did not know how LB would be with the application, I called on my friend and Vet Tech extraordinaire, Beth O'Grady, to teach me. The application of Soft Paws is easy, and LB was delightful.  He tolerated the application very well.  I put the glue in the Soft Paws and handed them to Beth so she could put them on.  The process only took about 5 minutes. The results are fantastic.  It has been three days and LB does not even know they are on.  They do not interfere with walking or scraping the litter.  And they look really adorable!  I have not heard him scratching the furniture, but I have peace of mind knowing that the furniture is protected. I highly recommend Soft Paws, and I can't wait to try other colors.  Maybe orange or even multi-colors.  The choices are endless!
